Irma Jones Schaffer, 93, of Reservoir Rd. St Clairsville Oh., formerly of Poplar St. Brookside, died Monday, July 13, 2009 at Forest Hills Nursing Home, St. Clairsville. She was born April 16, 1916 in Martins Ferry daughter of the late William and Anna (Joyce) Jones. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and the C.W.C. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Melvin ""Dutch"" Schaffer, also two brothers Lawrence J. and William Jones. Surviving are one son William M. Schaffer (Phyllis) of Findley Oh., two daughters Mary Jo Bumbico (Sam) of Brookside, and Ann Sommers (David) of Shadyside, six grandchildren Stephanie Fogle (Jim) of Wheeling, Kristin Carson (James) of St. Clairsville, Justin Bumbico (Wendy) of Columbus, Brett Bumbico of Brookside, Sarah Bugner (Jack) of Fostoria, Seth Schaffer of Findley Oh., seven great grandchildren. Friends will received at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road Brookside on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Bridgeport followed by interment in St. Mary's Cemetery Martins Ferry. Wake service will be said Friday at 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church Bridgeport.
