Ivor ""Bud"" Llewelyn Briggs, Jr. 59 of Barnesville, formerly of Bridgeport, died Tuesday, February 12, 2008 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born December 25, 1948 in Martins Ferry, the son of Helen M. Johnson Briggs and the late Ivor ""Bud"" L. Briggs Sr.. He was a Viet Nam War Veteran and a member of the Eagles in Barnesville. In addition to his parents Bud was also preceded in death by a sister, Connie Lou Briggs. Surviving in addition to his mother Helen of Glasgow, WV are two brothers, Henry Briggs and his wife Karen of Pennsylvania and Michael P. Briggs and his wife Beth of Indiana; a sister, Sharon Edwards of Glasgow; his former wife Sheila Briggs of Barnesville; a step daughter, Tonia Thomas of Barnesville; a step son, Veral Thomas and his wife Debbie of Columbus; three grandsons; a grand daughter; niece and nephews. Funeral services were private, held at the convenience of the family and were entrusted to the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside.
