Jack Wayne Banyas, 79, of Rayland, OH, died Thursday July 8, 2010 at Valley Hospice Care Center, Steubenville, surrounded by his family. He was born August 18, 1930 in Warrenton, OH, the son of the late Julius and Nellie (Norris) Banyas. Jack was retired from Nickles Bakery and was a veteran of the Air Force in Korea, where he was a tail gunner then he became a flight commander. He flew airplanes before he drove a car and at 16, he owned his own plane. He enjoyed golfing and yard work In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife Mary Louise Banyas. Jack is survived by a son Jack R. Banyas and his wife Mary Jane of Rayland; five grand children, Keith Banyas of Columbus, OH, Steve Banyas of Latta, SC, Robby Banyas of Rayland and his fiancé Jessica Uhrich of Martins Ferry, Katie and Richard Donley of Rayland; close family friends Judy Terrille of Dillonvale and James Ogden and his wife Carol of Rayland. Visitation will be on Sunday from 4-8 PM at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale, where services will be held on Monday at 11 am with Rev. Margie Carr-Nickell officiating. Full Military honors will be held at Holly Memorial Gardens by the Dillonvale McCook Post 529.
