Jack G. Kovas Jack G. "Jakey" Kovas, 85, of Hickory St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sat., Nov. 2, 2002, at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. He was born May 12, 1917 in Martins Ferry a son of the late George and Mary Regis Kovas. He was retired from the former Clean Coal Co. of Bellaire and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a son Raymond Kovas, two brothers Thomas and John Kovas, and a sister Caroline Reynolds. Surviving are two daughters Jackie Bellville of Martins Ferry and Karen Kovas of St. Clairsville, two sisters Marie Koucoumaris of Lemon Grove, CA and Thelma Kardanis of New York, NY, three granddaughters Jamie Callarik Coffey of Columbus, Lisa Callarik Jones of Massillon, and Heidi Bellville of Myrtle Beach, SC, two grandsons Raymond Kovas of Richmond, VA and William Kovas of Barnesville, and six great grandchildren. Friends will be received Tue. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wed., Nov. 6, 2002 at 10:00 AM with Fr. Menelaos Papageorgiou officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
