Obituary

Jack A. Morrison, 84 of Colerain Pike, Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, Mar. 29, 2009 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Jan. 2, 1925 in Martins Ferry a son of the late John B. and Maude (Hill) Morrison. He was retired from the Yorkville plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel. Jack was a member of the Colerain Presbyterian Church, and the V.F.W. Post #8848 , Colerain, OH. He was also a veteran of the U. S. Army, WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by six brothers, and three sisters. Surviving are his wife of 57 years Hazel (Sockman) Morrison, four daughters Charlene L. (John) Starinsky of Jewett, OH, Jacqueline (William) Habig of Clarington, OH, Pamela S. Hathaway of Martins Ferry, and Hazel P. Sinclair of Woodsdale, WV, six grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wednesday, Apr. 1, 2009 at 11:00 am with Rev. John A. Brown officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Full military services will be held at the funeral home by the Belmont County Council of the V.F.W.
