Obituary

James J. Barritt 95, of Lansing passed away Friday October 16, 2020 at Genesis Hospital Zanesville, Ohio. He was born June 6, 1925 in Lansing a son of the late Henry E. and Julia L. (Schayes) Barritt.

He was a retired employee of the former Picoma Industries Martins Ferry, a member of Lansing United Methodist Church, and a veteran of WWII in the US Marines, also he was an avid bowler at St. Clair Lanes.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Charlotte (Scheestel) Barritt, and a son James R. "Randy" Barritt.

Jim is survived by his son Bruce S. (Janet) Barritt of Zanesville, a daughter Marjorie L. (Jeffery) Smith of Mentor, a sister Mildred Warren, three grandchildren and two step-grandchildren, nine great grandchildren and five step-great grandchildren.

Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Wednesday October 21, 2020 from 11 am till 12 noon with a graveside service to follow at 12:30 pm at Linwood Cemetery Blaine, with Rev. John Jackson officiating. Full military graveside services will be conducted by the Belmont County Veterans Association. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to either Arc of Ohio 1335 Dublin Road Suite 100-A Columbus, Ohio 43215 or St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital 501 St. Jude PL, Memphis TN 38105-9959.
