James R. Beuter, 84, of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, Dec. 12, 2008 at his residence. He was born June 17, 1924 in Bridgeport, OH the son of the late Russell J. and Bernice (Newton) Beuter. He was a retired Underwriting Manager for Aetna Life Insurance Co. Jim was a member and former trustee of the First U. Methodist Church of Martins Ferry, OH and a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his two sisters Margaret Elliott and Lee Anna "Nan" Clulo. Surviving are his wife of 61 years Jane L. (Newland) Beuter, his daughter Pamela J. Reuther of Pittsburgh, a granddaughter Shanan J. Gloff and her husband Erik of San Diego, CA, and a great granddaughter Sydney J. Gloff. Private services were held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Madlynne Webber officiating at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Burial followed in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Memorial contributions may be made to the First U.
