James R. Burghy, 80, of Morristown, Ohio passed away Saturday, July 14, 2012 at Cumberland Pointe Care Center. He was born May 21, 1932 in Morristown, Ohio, son of the late Harvey Burghy and Clara (Ridgeway) Burghy. Jim was a retired supervisor for R & F Coal Company, had been employed with Tri State Asphalt Company for many years, and was a Union Township Trustee. He proudly served his country during the Korean War and was a devoted mason with Kirkwood Lodge #446 for 50 years. He was a member of Morristown Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Gerry (Trimmer) Burghy; infant son, Rodney Burghy; sisters, Francis VanCuren, Kathryn Jurovcik, and Marge Temple; brothers, Willard and Glenn Burghy. He is survived by daughter, Lisa (Vaughn) Butler; sons, Larry (Julie) Burghy and Chad (Debbie) Burghy, all of Morristown, Ohio; grandchildren, Trish, Jamie, Cole, Jenna, C.J., Kendl, Brenynn, Payten, Saige, and Sutherlynd; great-grandchildren, Lexi, Payden, Kolton, Knoxx, Ridge, Mason, and Chayce; and sister, Doris Jean Stewart of Barnesville, Ohio. Friends may visit, Tuesday 4-8 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 204 Main Street, Morristown, Ohio where services will be conducted, Wednesday 11 a.m. Reverend Gene Miller officiating. Interment will follow at Union Cemetery, Morristown, Ohio.
