James B. Conway, 90, of S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH died Mon., Apr. 19, 2004 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. He was born Apr. 10, 1914 in Bridgeport, OH a son of the late Charles and Mayme (Bartel) Conway. Jim was a retired welder with the Yorkville Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was a member of the First U. Methodist Church and American Legion Post #38 both of Martins Ferry and a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Virginia K. (Gibson) Conway, a brother Oliver Conway and two sisters Charlotte Grover and Sarah Cook. Surviving are a son James G. (Barbara) Conway of Syracuse, NY and a daughter Carol (James) Schwanenberger of Bridgeport, a brother William Conway of Bridgeport, four grandsons James (Alison) Conway, David Conway, Thomas Schwanenberger, and Christopher (Chris Ann) Schwanenberger, and two great grandchildren Austin Schwanenberger and Autumn Conway. Friends will be received at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH, Wed. 4-8 PM and Thurs., Apr. 22, 2004 from 10 AM until time of services at 11:00 AM when Rev. Van D. Fisher will officiate. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH.
