JAMES G. DUNN, 63, of Dillonvale, died Sunday, July 26, 2009 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born April 11, 1946 in Adams, MA, the son of the late Charles and Mary (Potla) Dunn. James was a coal miner for 9 years with Powhatan #6 Mine and a retired mail carrier with the United States Postal Service in Proctor, WV. He was an Army veteran with the 101st Airborne Division in Vietnam and was a member of the Yorkville VFW and Moundsville American Legion. He was a member of the Martins Ferry Eagles, was an avid golfer, and loved to play the dogs at Wheeling Downs. James is survived by his wife Edithann "Edie" Dunn; two sons Bruce Dunn and his wife Janet of Shadyside and Marc Nolen and his wife Kristy of Dover, OH; a step son Kevin Dalpiaz of Dillonvale; a step daughter Kelli Johnson and her husband David of Brilliant; a sister Beverly King and her husband Milt of South Deerfield, MA; as well as 8 grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday from 1 pm until the time of the funeral services at 4 pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, with Pastor Bertha Crane officiating. Interment will be held at a later date at Holly Memorial Gardens. Full military services will be conducted by the Yorkville VFW Post 4811 Wednesday at 4pm at the funeral home.
