Obituary

James L. Francis, 75, of Barnesville, Ohio died Sunday, December 29, 2013 at his home. He was born September 10, 1938 in Barnesville, Ohio, son of the late Jess L. Francis and Grace May McCabe Francis. Jim was a member of Ebenezer Baptist Church. He had worked as a school bus driver for Union Local Schools and served on the Bethesda Police Department in the 1970's. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Dorothy Bell. Jim is survived by his daughters, Kim (Dave) Krone of Barnesville and Kathy (Donovan) Shrieve of Bethesda; sisters, Donna (Marvin) Gray, Carol (Ed) Burley both of Barnesville, and Sarah Weekley of Bethesda; brother, Dave (Sally) Francis of Barnesville; grandchildren, Joe (Jenny) Thornton, Stacey (Matt) Hollida, Christina (Ryan) Cook, and D.J. Shrieve; great-grandchildren, Lexie, Skylar, Joey, Madison, Morgan, Macy, Rayland; and many nieces and nephews. Family and friends may visit, Friday from 11 am until the time of service, beginning at 1 pm. Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 322 N. Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio. Pastor Bob Merritt officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Bethesda, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to assist the family, at WesBanco, Bethesda location.
