Obituary

James H. "Pop Jackson" Jackson, 91, of Bridgeport, OH died Tuesday, December 20, 2016 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. He was born September 16, 1925 in Martins Ferry, OH a son of the late Isaiah J. and Hazel M. (Davis) Jackson.
He was a retired employee of Ormet Corp., Hannibal, OH. James was a member of Wayman A.M.E. Church, Wheeling, WV and a veteran of the U.S. Army WWII.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, E. Jeanette (Kimbro) Jackson and his brothers; Donald, Robert and Kenneth Jackson.
Surviving are his children; Judith (George) Saunders, James M. Jackson and Janet (Herbert) Wallace all of Bridgeport, OH, sister, Roberta Stewart of St. Clairsville, OH, grandchildren; Nicole Lynn and Jana Saunders and great grandchildren; Dorien Myles, Malik Fletcher, Akirah Fletcher and McKenna Saunders.
Friends will be received at, Wayman AME Church, 1136 Eoff St., Wheeling WV, Friday, December 23, 2016, from 10 am until time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Deborah Watt officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
Military honors will be presented at 11:45 a.m. by the Belmont County Honor Guard at the church
Arrangements by Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH.
