James Byron Johnson, 72, of Bridgeport, passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022, in East Ohio Regional Hospital.  He was born in Martins Ferry on May 17, 1949, a son of the late Herbert and Betty (Crane) Johnson.  Jim enjoyed landscaping, gardening and was an avid Pittsburgh Steelers fan.

He is survived by his daughter, Sherri Decker; three grandchildren whom he loved dearly, Nekeisha Decker, Tyreice Decker and Tyeasha Decker; a great grandson, Orion Reaser; a brother, Kenneth Johnson; two special nieces, Kandi Anderson and Gwen Smith and a nephew Bill Smith.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents and two sisters, Donna Jean Johnson, and Joyce Smith.

Private services will be held at the convenience of the family.  Arrangements entrusted to the Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry.
