James E. Kasik Sr., 80, of Bridgeport, Ohio left his beloved family on November 23, 2017 while in Wheeling Hospital. He was born February 14, 1937, in Martins Ferry, OH, the son of the late Elmer and Frances (Kuklevich) Kasik. He was the devoted husband of Helen Palmer Kasik whom he married on September 27, 1963. He was a loving father to his three children; James (Patricia) Kasik Jr., and Kelly (David) Carter both of St. Clairsville. His beloved son, John, passed away on September 19, 1989. The light of his life were his three grandsons, John, Nick, and Ryan Kasik of St. Clairsville, who all adored their Pap. He is also survived by his sister, Doris Dombroski of Maynard, and his sister-in-law, Bernadine Burghy of St. Clairsville. He was a 1955 graduate of Bridgeport High School. Jim worked for 42 years in the Martins Ferry plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and played guitar for many years with the Merry Makers Band. But most importantly, Jim was a wonderful caring husband, father, father-in-law, and Pap who will be dearly missed by all who loved him. Friends may call from 2 to 7pm on Sunday November 26, 2017 at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd. Bridgeport, OH where funeral services will be held on Monday, November 27 at 1:30pm with Reverend Homer Harden officiating. Burial will follow at Linwood Cemetery in Bridgeport.
