James M. Morris, 71, of Virginia St., Martins Ferry, OH died Thursday, Sept. 22, 2011 at Belmont Community Hospital, Bellaire, OH. He was born Aug. 20, 1940 in Suffolk, VA a son of the late Elton and Jessie Morris. He was a retired Car Salesman. James was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry, and a councilman for Martins Ferry in 1980. He was also a Eucharistic Minister, an avid runner, and a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a daughter Joan Michelle Morris. Surviving are his wife Barbara L. (Konyha) Morris, his children James (Kathy) Morris, of VA, Bonnie (Frank) Carrico of Italy, Jacqueline (Joe) Vick of NC, Jennifer (Robert) Morris of Martins Ferry, Todd Morris of Martins Ferry, Sarah (Jeremy) Rotilio of Shadyside, OH, sisters Sharon Jo Gudka, Jobel Cole, Jacqueline Kowalczyk, Derlene Allen, Diane Gudka, and Nancy Knowles., and eight grandchildren James, Jacob, Tara, Will, Anthony, Austin, Riley, and Leah. Private Memorial Service will be held by the family. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made in James name to Daily Bread Center, PO. Box 416, Martins Ferry, OH, or Belmont Co.
