Obituary

James A. "Jack" Timko 86, of Barton, died Tuesday July 28, 2015 at Liza's Place Wheeling. He was born November 8, 1928 in Barton, a son of the late Andrew M. and Jennie (Gima) Timko. Jack was a retired employee of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Beech Bottom Plant, a member of St. Frances Cabrini Catholic Church Colerain where he sang in the choir, a WWII veteran in the US Army. He was the last Charter member of the Barton Fire Dept. A member of the Knights of Columbus Council 11195 Colerain, Ohio. He was a member of S.O.A.R. Steel-Workers Org. of Active Retirees, Wheeling Chapter 32-7. A member of the First Catholic Slovak Union, Branch 326 Barton, Ohio, the VFW Post 8848 Colerain. He was an avid Notre Dame fan. Besides singing, Jack loved gardening, the Barton Fire Dept., but his greatest love and pride was his family. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother William Timko, and a sister Jo Ann Vincenzo. Jack is survived by his beloved wife of 60 years Rose (Matis) Timko, a son Jack (Anita) Timko of Colerain, two daughters Karen (Dave) Conaway of Bridgeport, and Sharon (Bob) Robson of New Concord, Ohio, a brother Ed Timko of Painesville, five grandchildren Amanda (Donnie) Murray, Andrea Timko, Megan and Ryan Robson, and Dave Conaway, three great grandchildren Olivia, Civin, and Drew Murray, also several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Thursday July 30, 2015 from 1-8 pm with wake service to be recited at 4 pm at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 am at St Frances Cabrini Catholic Church Colerain with Fr. Dale Tornes as celebrant, interment at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove. Full Military graveside services will be conducted by the Belmont Council of the VFW.
