James R. Ware, 87, of Buena Vista Dr., Colerain, OH died Friday, Dec. 4, 2009 at home. He was born Dec. 17, 1921 in Martins Ferry, OH a son of the late Chester O. and Florence M. (Coss) Ware. He was retired from the Yorkville Plant of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel, and also a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp, WW II. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Matilda T. (Horvath) Ware, three brothers William, Raymond, Lawrence Ware, and a sister Florence Ulom. Surviving are a son David (Karen) Ware of Maynard, OH, three daughters Jean McFarland, Jeri (Doug) Outward, and Colleen (Henry) Lewis all of Colerain, OH, eight grandchildren, and nine great grandchildren. Friends will be received Sunday 12 -3 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Monday, Dec. 7, 2009 at 11:00 am with Pastor Henry Lewis officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Belmont County Council of the V.F.W. will conduct military honors at the funeral home prior to the services.
