James E. Winland, 74, of Pittsburgh, PA, formerly of Colerain, OH, died March 18, 2020 at the Veterans Hospital in Pittsburgh.

James was born March 20, 1946, in Wheeling, WV, a son of the late James and Violet (Scott) Winland.

James was a U.S. Marine Veteran, having served three tours in Vietnam, and was a former member of the V.F.W., and the American Legion and was a Baptist by faith.

James is survived by his brother, William (Esther) Winland of Shadyside; sister, Susie Battistelli of Colerain; nephews, Ralph and Dennis Heller of Shadyside, Michael Winland of Martins Ferry; and niece, Melissa (Adam) Shallcross of Wheeling.

Private services will be held.
