Janet Joyce
(Stone) Welshans
August 15, 1935 – January 18, 2025
Janet Joyce (Stone) Welshans, 89 of Antioch TN, formerly of Dillonvale, passed away Saturday, January 18, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on August 15, 1935, in Dillonvale, the daughter of the late Emerson Stone and Mary Ellen (King) Loper.
Janet was methodist by faith and a former member of the United Methodist Church of Dillonvale, OH. A loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, her love for her family was matched only by her love of gardening, fishing, and her collection of ceramic shoes. Her sense of style and sassy sense of humor made her a joy to be around. She will be missed by all who know and love her. Janet was widely known for her extraordinary baking talents, especially her legendary pies, which became a hallmark of family gatherings and community events alike. She delighted in sharing her creations with neighbors, friends, and loved ones, and her recipes will be treasured by generations to come.
She also found immense joy in the art of crocheting, creating beautiful and intricate pieces that brought comfort and warmth to those around her. From blankets to scarves, each stitch was a reflection of her love and creativity, leaving behind tangible treasures for her family to hold close.
Her gentle spirit, quick wit, and unwavering compassion made her a cornerstone in the lives of those she held dear.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Charles Welshans, daughter, Sandy Welshans, grandson, Nicholas Brindley, great-grandson, Landen Cost, two siblings, Wayne Stone and Phyllis Ross.
Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Tammy (Bob) Hackenburg, Mary (Jim) Smith, Lee Ann Welshans, 7 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, who lovingly referred to her as "Gug" and "Nay", and sister, Lois Litva.
