Jean A. Gwinn, 76 of Indiana St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sun., May 30, 2004 at the home of her brother on Absalom Drive, Martins Ferry. She was born Feb. 1, 1928 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Edmund and Geneva H. (Poulain) Absalom. She was a former teacher in Dayton, OH and an Administrative Assistant at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, a member of the First Christian Church, Martins Ferry, a graduate of West Liberty State College and an avid painter. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother Charles Absalom. Surviving are her husband of 48 years Cecil W. Gwinn, two brothers Edmund T. Absalom and his wife Nadine and Thomas A. Absalom and his wife Gloria all of Martins Ferry and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tues. 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wed,. Jun. 2, 2004 at 11:00 AM with Minister Rod Kasler officiating. Burial follows in Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport, OH.
