Jean M. (Hanly) Martin, 87, of Vine St., Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, September 2, 2012 at Rosewood Manor, Yorkville, OH. She was born January 27, 1925 in Wheeling, WV a daughter of the late James A. and Helen (Miller) Hanly. She was a retired employee of the former Stone & Thomas Department Store, Wheeling, WV. Jean was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Robert J. Martin, a son Robert J. Martin, Jr., a brother James A. Hanly, and a sister Patricia Bevilacqua. Surviving are her daughter Kathy (Stoney) Padgelek of Martins Ferry, a sister Maureen Lovinski of Wintersville, OH, three grandchildren Lori (Tony) Coleman, and Christy (Jim) Burnett all of St. Clairsville, OH, and Luke Padgelek of Bellaire, OH, six great grandchildren; Brittany and Jacob Coleman, Meggan and Cody Burnett all of St. Clairsville, and Lukas and Anna Padgelek of Martins Ferry, several nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Tuesday 2-4 & 6-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at 11:00 am with Fr. Tom Marut officiating. Burial follows in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Wheeling, WV. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the charity of the Donor's choice.
