Jean L. Thomas, 81, of Euclid Ave., formerly of Jefferson St., Martins Ferry, OH died Mon., June 20, 2005 at Ohio Valley Medical Center, Wheeling, WV. She was born January 29, 1924 in Martins Ferry a daughter of the late Harry "Cy" and Lucy (Gosney) Thomas. Jean was a teacher for the former College of Commerce of Wheeling and retired as the Obituary Editor of the Times-Leader after 47years service. She was a member of the First U. Methodist Church of Martins Ferry where she was past president of the U. Methodist Women's Society. Jean was a long time fan of Jamboree USA and the Capital Music Hall of Wheeling. Surviving are her good friends with whom she resided Kathy and Moe Byard of Martins Ferry. Friends will be received Wed., 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thurs., June 23, 2005 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Cindy Murphy officiating. Burial follows in Weeks Cemetery, Bridgeport.
