Obituary

JEAN ZASIO, 82, of Dillonvale, died Saturday, July 10, 2010 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry. She was born November 15, 1927, the daughter of the late Attilio and Louise Zambon Zasio. Jean graduated from Dillonvale High School and received a B.A. Degree in Educationfrom Ohio University. Jean taught High School English in Irondale for 2 years, in Carrolton for 5 years and then at Mayfield Heights in Cleveland for 28 years. As English Department Head for several years at Mayfield High School, Jean was responsible for the overall English curriculum as well as teaching Honor Classes for juniors and seniors. Jean retired in 1984 and returned to Dillonvale. In November of 2000, she was inducted in the Mayfield "Staff Hall of Fame." She was a member of the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church and sang in the choir. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother John, and sisters, Norma McGlaun, Katherine Zasio and Caroline Ragus. Surviving family members include a brother, Arthur Zasio and his wife Dee of Canyon Lake, CA, four nieces and three nephews. Friends are invited to attend visitation Wednesday, July 14th, 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St. Dillonvale. Visitation will also be Thursday, July 15th at the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church, from 10 am until the time of Jean's funeral service at 11 am., with Reverend Michael Lenno officiating. Interment follows at Highland Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dillonvale Presbyterian Church, 52 Liberty St. Dillonvale, Ohio, 43917.
