Jess Franklin Pugh, Jr., 76 of Dillonvale passed away peacefully surrounded by his children on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at the Select Specialty Hospital in Wheeling. He was born on August 19, 1947, in Martins Ferry, the son of Grace Irene Lambert and the late Jess Franklin Pugh, Sr.
He was a retired coal miner and electrician from the Shoemaker Coal Mine/CONSOL Energy, a veteran of the United States Army and a Methodist by faith. In the words of his beloved wife, your life is a blessing, your memory a treasure, you are loved beyond words and missed beyond measure."
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Alice Mae Pugh in 2020.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ashley (Jared) Kempton, Alyssa (Jeffery) Patrick, Amy (Bret) Krol, Kimberly (Chris) Fernatt, grandchildren, Holden and Case Kempton, Jackson Patrick, Dylan and Cody Krol, Jozlyn and Makaja Pugh and Isaac Fernatt, his mother, Grace Irene Lambert, brother, Richard (Deanie) Pugh and sister, Betty (Bob) Tucker, 2 great-grandchildren complete the family.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 2-4 and 6-8, where funeral services will be at 7:30pm at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second Street, Dillonvale, Ohio 43917, officiated by Rev. Jim Hoff. The burial will be private. Military Honors will be presented by the Dillonvale American Legion, McCook Post #529 at 2pm at the Funeral Home.
