Joann (Cherbuliez)
Koch
January 2, 1933 – November 23, 2025
On November 23, 2025, Heaven gained the most beautiful angel when JoAnn Koch went home to be with the Lord while surrounded by her loving family. JoAnn, a former resident of Martins Ferry, enjoyed 92 wonderful years of life with those she treasured more than anything in this world, her family. Anyone that knew her knew she was there for every moment, big or small, for her kids and grandkids. Somehow, she never missed an event that any of them were involved in. No matter the sport, activity, weather, or time of year, she was there in the stands to be their biggest fan. She was known as "Grandma Jo" to all her grandkids, and also to all her grandchildren's friends. She was everyone's Grandma Jo and to know her was to love her. Her warm nurturing spirit was most evident when she welcomed you into her home. She always insisted that she fix you something to eat the moment you walked through the door, whether you were hungry or not. A cup of tea at her kitchen table was had with every visitor and loved one. In the last five years, she has resided with and been lovingly cared for by her daughter and son in law in Belmont, Ohio where she enjoyed watching the deer and birds on the back deck and visits with her friends and family.
JoAnn was a member of the First Christian Church of Martins Ferry, and retired from, the former Clevite Industries of Lansing and JC Penney's.
She was the daughter of the late Emil Cherbuliez and Glendora (Koch), and was born on January 2, 1933, in Martins Ferry.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her infant son, George E. Koch III, siblings, Harry Sommers, and Jackie Walford, and fur baby Punkin.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Robert Koch, and Amy (Chuck) McConn, grandchildren, Samantha (Martyn) Wallace, Misty (Robert) Glitch, Dustin (Stephanie) Koch, Derek (Molly) Koch, Daniel (Katie) Koch, Chazz(Kayla) McConn Dane (Hannah) Koch, great-grandchildren, Addisyn, Gavin, Avery, Glitch, Andrin, Daniel, Vienne Theaumont, Emma and Jayden Koch, Carter, Jude and Campbell Koch, Kennedy Koch, Rowen, Wrenley, and Ryar Koch and Aria Knowles, and her sister Georgia Bosley. She also leaves behind her special little kitty, Sweetpea, who she simply adored.
Family and friends will be received on Sunday, November 30, 2025, from 1 pm to 7 pm at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, Ohio 43912. Funeral Service will be on Monday, December 1, 2025, at 11 am with Pastor Justin Hill officiating. Burial to follow at Weeks Cemetery in Bridgeport.
