Joann Louise (Sustersic) Volan, 82, of Bridgeport, passed away Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Amherst Manor, Amherst, OH. She was born in Bellaire on October 15, 1941, a daughter of the late Louis and Joanne (Kozel) Sustersic. Joann was a member of St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, retired after 35 years of service as a Registered Nurse from OVMC, and enjoyed camping, gardening, and sewing.

She is survived by her daughter, Marnie (John) McCardle; son, John Volan Jr.; three grandchildren, John, Katherine, and Robert McCardle; and a brother, Edward Sustersic.

Joann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Volan Sr., in 2019; and a brother, Louis Sustersic.

Friends may call Tuesday from 2-4 and 6-8 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10 am in St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 630 Main St., Bridgeport, with Father John Mucha officiating. Burial will follow in Linwood Cemetery, Blaine.
