Joanne Schell Modreck, 85, of Brookside died Monday February 1, 2016 at Peterson Rehabilitation Hospital. She was born November 9, 1930in Bridgeport, a daughter of the late Arnold W. and Anna (Pogoreski) Schell. She was a retired Registered Nurse for Wheeling Hospital, a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church Bridgeport. Joanne was a graduate of Bridgeport High School class of 1948, a graduate of Wheeling Hospital School of Nursing class of 1951, a member of the Humane Society, and the ASPCA. In addition to her parents Joanne was preceded in death by her loving husband George Modreck in 1985, and a son Joseph Modreck. Joanne is survived by her children Kathy (Dr. Vic) Perrone of Wheeling, Kim (Joe) Biondi of Pleasant Grove, George (Patty) Modreck of Sunrise, FL , and Kris Voytecek of Denver, CO, eight grandchildren Leslie Letusick, Christopher Koegler, Richard Hanechak, Michael Modreck, Adam Voytecek, Jacob Modreck, Anthony Modreck, and Rachel Voytecek, and three great grandchildren Mason Letusick, Luke Letusick, and Mya Modreck. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Friday February 5, 2016 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, with wake service to be recited at 4 pm at the Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10 am at St. Anthony Catholic Church Bridgeport, with Fr. John Mucha as celebrant, private interment will be held at the convenience of the family.
