Joe Magyar, 92, of Martins Ferry, OH died Tuesday, June 19, 2012 at his residence. He was born Dec. 16, 1919 in Robyville, OH a son of the late Frank and Julia (Boria) Magyar. Joe retired from the Martins Ferry Plant of Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel and was a veteran of the U.S. Army, WWII. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Frances (Torre) Magyar, brothers; John, Steve and Frank Magyar and sisters; Emeline Szypkowski, Bertha Kerner and Elizabeth Dolfi. Surviving are his daughters; Sandra (Bill) Beese of Herndon, VA and Joette (Gary) Bullock of Martins Ferry and grandchildren; Maria (Jay) Lang, Sara (Joshua) Sims, and Allison (Michael) Lundberg. The family wishes to extend a special thank you for the loving care and attention given by Joe's care givers. Friends will be received Friday, 5-8 pm at the Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Saturday, June 23, 2012 at 11:00 am with Pastor Joe Ellis officiating. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, Martins Ferry. Military honors will be presented at the funeral home prior to services by the V.F.W. Belmont County Honor Guard.
