JOHN RICHARD ANDREWS

John Richard Andrews, 84, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away December 2, 2021.

Born October 4, 1937 in Woodsfield, Ohio, he was the son of the late George and Lois (Bates) Andrews and one of seven children with which the family was blessed.  Also preceding John in death were his daughter, Penny Lee Andrews; brother, George William Andrews, II; sisters, Brenda Phyllis Bowersock and Cheryl Lynne Burr.

He is survived by his best friend and wife of 61 years, Ruth Joann Andrews; daughters, Barbara Kay Pritchard, Bonnie Jo Howell (Russell Hess), Lisa Merle (Tim) Baker; grandchildren, Tracie Lynn Andrews, Jasonna Jo Howell, Chelsea Lynn Pritchard, Jamison Ward Howell; great-grandchildren, Gavyn Rayne Hesson, Rowan Skye Hesson; sister, Freda Sue (Rick) Marendt; brothers, Paul Stanton (Sharon) Andrews, James Kenneth (Joyce) Andrews; friend and confidant, who was truly like a brother, Clavon (Carol) Crumrine. He will forever be in their hearts.

A member of the East Main Street Church of Christ, John's faith was an important role in his life, as was raising his family, to whom he was very devoted. He loved playing Play Station and even more, teaching his grandchildren to play.  He was a very competitive card player, loved the Cleveland Indians, Cincinnati Bengals, and talking to people.  He never met a stranger.

Visitation for family and friends will be held at Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido, on Monday, December 6, 2021 from 11:00 AM until 2:00 PM, with the service immediately following.  Val Roxby will officiate.  Interment will take place at Hope Cemetery in Hendrysburg.
