John Bettineschi Sr., 79 of St Rt. 150 Dillonvale, Ohio, died Sunday October 4th, 2009 at Wheeling Hospital Whg, W.Va.; he was born December 29, 1929 in Smithfield Oh., son of the late Angelo and Theresa (Baldoni) Bettineschi. John was a retired employee of Wheeling -Pittsburgh Steel Mingo, a member of St. Adalberts Catholic Church, the American Legion Post 529 both of Dillonvale, V.F.W. post 4811 Yorkville, the Pine Valley Sportsman Club, he was also a veteran of the Korean War in the U.S. Navy, John also served as a Mt. Pleasant Township Trustee for 20 years. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Yolanda Palozzi. John is survived by his wife of 54 years Kathryn (Hutkai) Bettineschi, two sons Dr. John "Rob" Bettineschi Jr. and his wife Lori of Beaver Creek, Oh., and Jeff Bettineschi and his wife Janet of Brilliant, a daughter Jayne Bettineschi of Dillonvale, two sisters Agnes Short and her husband Ervan of Crown City Ohio, and Mary Volney of Smithfield, five grandchildren, Tiffany Kelley, Nathan, Dana, Devin, and Braden Bettineschi, also several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St. Dillonvale, Tuesday from 2-8p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 10a.m. with Msgr. John Kolesar officiating, interment will be held at the convenience of the family, wake service will be held Tuesday at 7:30 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Adalberts Catholic Church Dillonvale, Full military services will be held at St Adalberts Catholic Church by the Dillonvale American Legion.
