John H. "Biz" Bisbocci, 81, of Martins Ferry, OH, long time Ohio Valley Educator, died Friday, July 31, 2015 at his residence. He was born May 21, 1934 in Martins Ferry a son of the late John Bisbocci, Sr. and Blanche M. (Accurti) Bisbocci. Biz was a graduate of Martins Ferry High School Class of 1952, an undergraduate of Ohio State University, West Liberty University and a graduate student at the University of Pittsburgh and Ohio University. He earned his Master of Science in Physical Chemistry from Bowling Green University as a member of the National Science Foundation Scholarship Winners of 1992. John started his teaching career at Martins Ferry High School in 1956 and in 1957 was hired by Ohio University to teach evening classes in chemistry and physics at the newly formed Ohio University Belmont Branch. He taught there until his first retirement in 1998. Biz returned to teaching at various times at The Linsly School, St. Clairsville High School, Bishop Donahue High School and Wheeling Jesuit University. Biz was the recipient of many accolades during his teaching career. Surviving are his wife Claudie J. (Caseber) Bisbocci, children; J. Brian (Patty) Bisbocci of Scott Depot, WV, Dr. Brent Bisbocci of Manila, Phillippines, Bryn (Dr. Raymond) Tropeano of Lakewood, CA and Dr. Brady (Cindy) Bisbocci of St. Clairsville, OH, a brother Edward (Evron) Bisbocci of Martins Ferry, grandchildren; Erica (Seth) Lacy, Angelo Bisbocci, Derek and Devyn Tropeano, John Logan Bisbocci, Geno Bisbocci and great grandchildren; Kaiden and Kaleb Maynor. Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, Wednesday, 2-4 & 6-8 pm where services will be held Thursday, August 6, 2015 at 1:00 pm with Rev. Van D. Fisher officiating. Entombment follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to: First U. Methodist Church, 307 Clay St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
