JOHN D. BONTEMPO

John D. Bontempo, 84, St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away October 27, 2019 at his home with family by his side. He was born April 30, 1935 in Avella, Pennsylvania to the late Dominic and Lena Bontempo.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Richard C. Bontempo and brother, Richard R. Bontempo.

John is survived by his daughters, Diane (Howard) Rowley of Mingo and Denise (Ed) Phillips of Warren; sons, John Bontempo, Jr of Fairpoint and David Bontempo of Belmont; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; and sister, Jean Strupe of Rayland.

John served his country, proudly, in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was a member of the St. Clairsville American Legion Post and VFW.

He will be missed by family and friends and his memory will forever be cherished.

In honoring John's wishes, cremation has taken place. His care was entrusted with Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory Kelly Kemp Braido in Bethesda.
