John W. Cameron, Sr., 66, of Piedmont, Ohio, died Wednesday, December 4, 2013 at his home. He was born November 24, 1947 in Wheeling, West Virginia, son of the late Victor E. Cameron, Jr. and Doris L. Pitner Cameron.
John had worked as a welder for the Gradall Company. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy, during the Vietnam Era. John was a hard worker and the most amazing man ever, according to his wife and children.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Tracey E. Cameron and brothers, Thomas Cameron and Nelson Cameron.
John is survived b y his wife of 44 years, Catherine E. Cameron; daughters, Doris C. (Edward) King II of Dennison, Ohio, Kimberley M. (Dan) Merritt of Piedmont, Ohio, Leslie A. Neininger of Uhrichsville, Ohio; son, John W. Cameron, Jr. (Missy) of Piedmont, Ohio; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; sister, Vicki (Kirk) Jones of Freeport, Ohio; and brothers, Kenneth (Barb) Cameron of Piedmont, Ohio and Victor (Claire) Cameron III of Moundsville, West Virginia.
Family and friends may visit, Saturday from 11 am until the time of service, beginning at 1 pm, Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 702 E. Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Pastor Rodney West officiating. Interment will follow at Hope Cemetery, Hendrysburg, Ohio.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: First Baptist Church, 94 Shady Lane, Barnesville, Ohio 43713.
