Dr. John Harold Charlton 94 of Bridgeport, Ohio died Wednesday April 1, 2015 at his home, he was born May 26, 1920 in Lansing, Ohio, a son of the late John and Arizona (Gillette) Charlton. Jack practiced Podiatry in Bridgeport for 37 years. A graduate of Ohio College of Podiatry now Associated with Kent State University, he attended pre-med at Ohio State University. He was a member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge #181 for 38 years, the Bridgeport Rotary Club serving as past president, and a Methodist by faith. He served in the US Air Force during WWII in Africa and Italy, he also was elected in the Bridgeport High School Hall of Fame in 2014. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers William, Richard, and Edward Charlton. Jack is survived by his loving wife Margaret (Young) Charlton, nephews Edward J. Charlton of Akron, and Richard L. (Betty Lou) Charlton of Bethlehem, WV, many great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside on Friday April 3, 2015 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 am with Rev David Demarest officiating, interment at Holly Memorial Gardens Pleasant Grove.
