Obituary

John P. Cleaver of Mt. Pleasant went to be with the Lord on his birthday December 28, 2015 at Wetzel County Hospital New Martinsville, WV. He was born December 28, 1916 in Mt. Pleasant, a son of the late Frank L. and Pauline (Patterson) Cleaver. He was a retired employee of the New Co-Operative Co. Dillonvale, and a farmer. He was a life member of the First Presbyterian Church Mt. Pleasant where he was an elder. In recent years he also attended Alma-Ripley Chapel U.M.C. He was a charter member of the Central Ohio Breeding Association, and previous owner of Rose Lane Farm. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his loving wife Martha R. (Ring) Cleaver, a brother Oliver Cleaver, two sisters Catherine Hunter, and Esther Zuercher, and son-in-law Gary Seckman. John is survived by three sons Robert J. (Shirley) Cleaver of Huntingtown MD, Charles T. (Wanda) Cleaver and Neal E. (Nina) Cleaver both of Mt. Pleasant, a daughter Mary M. Seckman of Alma, WV, eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and two great great grandchildren. Friends will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home 154 Second St. Dillonvale on Sunday January 3, 2016 from 2-6 pm, and then on Monday from 10 am till time of service at 11 am at the First Presbyterian Church Mt. Pleasant, with Rev. Dr.Lorraine Dill officiating, interment in Short Creek Cemetery Mt. Pleasant. Memorial Contributions may be made to the donor's choice.
