Obituary

John W. Eden John W. Eden, 53, of Colerain Pike, Martins Ferry, OH died Fri., Jan. 18, 2002 at home. He was born Feb. 8, 1948 in Martins Ferry a son of Wanita Phillips Eden DiNardo and the late John W. Eden, Sr. He was a Postal Carrier for the Martins Ferry Post Office and was a former carpet layer for the former Heslop Furniture Store. John was a veteran of the U.S. Army 101st Airborne having served in Vietnam where he received the Purple Heart with Oak Leaf Cluster, the Bronze Star, and the Airborne Medal. He was a member of the Bellaire DAV, V.F.W. Post #3613 and American Legion Post #38 both of Martins Ferry, and was a retired captain of the Martins Ferry Fire Dept. Liberty Engine Co. In addition to his mother of Martins Ferry he is survived by his stepfather Thomas DiNardo, his wife Lynda L. Reasbeck Eden, a daughter Lori Morelli and her husband Mike of Dillonvale, a son John W. Eden, Jr. of the home, two sisters Brenda Davis and her husband Norman and Sandy Voltz all of Martins Ferry, a stepbrother T.J. Denard of Wheeling, a grandson Tony Morelli, and three nephews. Friends will be received Sat. 7-9 PM and Sun. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Mon. at 1:00 PM with Blair White officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove with full military graveside honors by the Belmont County Council of the Veterans of Foreign Wars.
