John Adolph Harr Sr., 82, of Mt. Pleasant, passed away Thursday, July 15, 2021, at his farm. He was born on May 29, 1939, in Adena, a son of the late William and Emma (Kreitzer) Harr Sr. John was an active member of the Mt. Pleasant Presbyterian Church, retired from Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel in 2004, was a member of the Jefferson County Farm Bureau and more than anything else loved spending time with his family and friends and working and living on his farm.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Sandra (Scheehle) Harr; his beloved children, Deborah (Corey) Starosciak, Kimberly (Brian) Smith, Jodi (Jerry) Miller and John Harr Jr; siblings, William (Dorothy) Harr Jr, Shirley (Charlie) Kokiko, Donald (Patty) Harr, Carol (Vince) Ciroli and Robert (Sandra) Harr; 4 grandchildren, Emily Smith, Sophia Smith, Jared Miller and Lauren Miller and many nieces, nephews and close friends. John will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Mary Kay Sterling.
Friends may call Monday from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 am in the funeral home, with Pastor Loraine Dill officiating. Entombment will be held at Holly Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Pleasant Grove.
In Lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Mt Pleasant Presbyterian Church 123 Union St., Mt. Pleasant, OH 43939 in his memory.
