John W. Jones, 67, of Myrtle Beach, S.C., formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Sunday, October 27, 2019 at South Grand Strand Medical Center. He was born July 15, 1952 in Wheeling, WV a son of the late Henry D. and Agnes (Zeleski) Jones.

He retired after 42 years of service from the Yorkville Plant Wheeling-Pittsburgh. John is also a retired EMS squad member. He currently works in the maintenance department at Myrtle Beach Resort.

He was a veteran of U.S. Army. John was a member of American Legion Post #38 of Martins Ferry. John was an honorary member of the Martins Ferry Fire Dept.

Surviving are his wife, Cheryl L. (Minder) Jones, his children; Linda (Shane) Wills of Queenscreek, AZ, Kelley (Brian) Helal and Michael (Heather) Jones both of Myrtle Beach, S.C., nieces whom he raised Amy (Eric) Tomolonis of Bridgeport,OH and Minnia (Dave Phillips) Kittel of Cadiz, OH, siblings; Cathy (Bob) Eckle of Columbus, OH, Bob (Nicole) Jones of Marietta, OH, Donald Jones of Martins Ferry, Jim and Joe Jones of Colerain, OH, grandchildren; Isaac and Valerie Jones, Trevor, Connor, and Calvin Wills, Devin and Mason Helal, Bentley and Brantley Phillips, Brad (Brianne) Tomolonis and Ashley (T.J.) Vavrock.

Family and friends will be received at Heslop Funeral Home, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH Thursday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where services will be held Friday, November 1, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Tom Marut officiating.

Martins Ferry Fire Dept. will hold services at 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home.
