John W. "Bill" Meyers, 76, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away Friday, April 19, 2013 at his home. He was born June 3, 1936 in Barnesville, Ohio, son of the late Harrold E. Meyers and O'Della May Rosengrant Meyers. Bill was a devoted husband and a very loving father and grandfather. He was a retired coal miner. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a wartime veteran. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and carpenter. He enjoyed archery and was an excellent marksman. Bill served as Color Guard Commander in local parades. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Bettie MaGee and his grandson, Jonathan Kinney. Bill is survived by his wife of 22 1/2 years, Mary M. Meyers of Barnesville; daughters, Brita Kinney of Cambridge, Amanda Kinney of Philo, Felicia (James) Powell and Susan (Russ) Cunard all of Bethesda, Michelle Wilson of St. Clairsville, Melissa Mead of Barnesville and Melissa Meyers of the home; son, Robert Siegmund of Germany, Richard (Holly) Cochran of Grove City, Michael (Stephanie) Cochran of Quaker City, and David Meyers of Zanesville; 20 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; niece, Polly (John) Sawvel of Barnesville; and his special companion and faithful friend, Rosco P. Coltrane. Family and friends are welcome to visit, Monday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 10 a.m., until the time of service at 11 a.m., at Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Pastor Bob Kester will be officiating. Interment will follow at Crestview Cemetery, Barnesville, Ohio. Belmont County Veterans Association will conduct Military Honors at the graveside.
