John David Nicodemus, 80, of Bridgeport, Ohio, passed Wednesday October 29, 2014 at home. He was born in Coshocton, Ohio on July 26, 1934, a son of the late David and Zelpha Stanton Nicodemus. He was a State Farm Insurance Agent for 41 years; a member of the First United Methodist Church, Bellaire; Lodge #438 F&AM of Bellaire; and Scottish Rite of Steubenville. He truly enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Tom Nicodemus. John is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Joan Dairymple Nicodemus; sons: David (Rhonda) Nicodemus of Wheeling, W.Va., Greg (Connie) Nicodemus of Washington, PA; a daughter Debbi (Terry) Schuster of Martins Ferry, Ohio; grandchildren: Jordan and Jillian Nicodemus, Aaron Schuster, and a great granddaughter Kali Grace Nicodemus. Friends will be received Sunday 12 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio, where services will be held Monday November 3, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Sheryl Seitz, officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.
