Obituary

John A. Palmer 93 formerly of Cemetery Road Martins Ferry passed away December 24, 2020 at Wheeling Continuous Care Center Wheeling. He was born May 16, 1927 in Martins Ferry, a son of the late Nicholas and Theresa (Leto) Palmer.

John was a retired employee of Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel Yorkville Plant, a US Marine in WWII, and a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church Martins Ferry. John was the last surviving brother to Anthony, Lonnie, Lewis, Joseph, James, Albert, and Dominic, Mary Cavallaro, Rose, Jane Colelli, and Iris Palmer.

John enjoyed drawing pictures, especially Disney characters. His pictures were shown in many businesses around Martins Ferry. John enjoyed watching Notre Dame football, Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates baseball games.

Friends and family are invited to St. Mary's Catholic Church 20 N. 4th Street Martins Ferry on Monday January 4, 2021 from 10 am till time of memorial Mass of Christian Burial at 11 am, with Fr. Tom Marut as celebrant. Wilson Funeral Home Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut St. Martins Ferry, Ohio assisting the family. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church 40 N. 4th Street Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935.
