JOHN B. PERSIANI, 80, of Dillonvale, died Tuesday, November 17, 2009 at OVMC in Wheeling. He was born July 12, 1929 in Dillonvale, the son of the late Marion and Josephine (Bett) Persiani. John was retired from Norfolk & Southern Railroad. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Dillonvale American Legion and the Wheeling Elks Club. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Veronica in 2004, and two brothers, Serafino and Robert Persiani. John is survived by three sons, John of Cincinnati, OH, Christopher of Loveland, OH and David of Dillonvale, OH; a daughter, Cathy Persiani of Front Royal, VA; as well as four grandchildren, Nicholas, Alexander, Jennifer and Grant Persiani.. Visitation will be Wednesday 6-8 pm and Thursday from 9 am until the time of John's funeral services at 11 am at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, with Monsignor John Kolesar officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove. The Dillonvale American Legion McCook Post 529 will conduct full military honors.
