Skoberne, John T. 87, of Blaine, Ohio died Sunday March 23, 2014 at Liza's place Valley Hospice South, Wheeling. He was born December 20, 1926 in Maynard, Ohio, a son of the late Anton and Mary (Zibert) Skoberne. He was a retired Accounting Clerk for United Ohio Valley Dairy Martins Ferry, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church Wolfhurst, a veteran of WW II in the US Army, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the PNA lodge, the SNPJ lodge, and was very active in the Bridgeport Food Pantry. In addition to his parents John is preceded in death by his wife Alice M. (Kapusta) Skoberne, brothers Joseph, Anthony, and George Skoberne, sisters Mary Olenik, and Ann Pramik. John is survived by several nieces and nephews, and a special friend Colt Charlton. Friends will be received on Wednesday March 26, 2014 from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at Wilson Funeral Home 920 National Road Brookside. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 am at St. Joseph Catholic Church Wolfhurst, with Fr. John Mucha as celebrant, interment in St. Anthony Catholic Cemetery Blaine. Knights of Columbus services will be held on Wednesday at 3:30 pm, and wake will be said at 7:30 pm at the Funeral Home.
