John N. Stan, 56, of Louisville, TN, formerly of Martins Ferry, OH died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008 at Blount Memorial Hospital, Maryville, TN. He was born Jan. 10, 1952 in Martins Ferry a son of Delores (Hale) Stan and the late John Stan. John was employed with West Valley Middle School of Knox County, TN and a veteran of the U.S.Navy. Surviving in addition to his mother of Martins Ferry are his wife Nancy Ann (Anderson) Stan, two sons Kevin Stan and Tony (Stephanie) Thomas both of Knoxville, TN, a daughter Tara (Joey) McCarthy of Crofton, MD, two sisters Darlene (Dennis) Lodge of St. Clairsville, OH and Brenda (Sam) Stewart of Colerain, OH, a brother George Stan of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and five grandchildren. Family and friends will be received Wednesday 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH where services will be held Thursday, Feb. 14, 2008 at 11:00 am with Pastor Wayne Ickes officiating. Burial follows in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH. The Belmont Co. Council of the American Legion will conduct military honors at the funeral home prior to services.
