John R. ""Jack"" Terrill, 74, longtime businessman of Wheeling, WV, passed away Sunday, April 20, 2008 at Wheeling Hospital in the presence of his loving family. He was born on January 1, 1934 in Martins Ferry, OH, son of the late John R. and Louise (Rechtenwald) Terrill. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a sister, Kathryn (Terrill) Davison. Jack was a 1951 graduate of St. John's Central in Bellaire, OH, and proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from 1956-1959, spending 1 year in Taiwan as a Chinese translator. He was formerly an executive with Retail Credit, president of L.S. Good & Co., vice president of Stone & Thomas and most currently broker/owner of Joseph Realty. He served his community in various organizations, including the Martins Ferry Board of Education, the Martins Ferry and Wheeling Jaycees, the Belmont County Board of Children's Services, and the Wheeling Board of Realty He was an avid Mountaineer fan, loved the outdoors, but most of all loved spending time with his family, especially his three grandsons. He will be deeply missed by his wife Susan (DeLuca) Terrill, son Douglas (Lou Ann) Terrill of Bridgeport, OH; daughter Christy (Tim) Heppner of Westerville, OH; grandsons Ian Terrill of Bridgeport and Nicholas and Kevin Heppner of Westerville, along with nieces, nephew, aunts, uncles and many friends. Friends will be received at Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside, OH on Wednesday from 1 p.m. until the time of Jack's funeral services at 2 p.m. with Pastor Paul Schafer officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
