Joni Marmie Bennett, 58, of Barnesville, Ohio, passed away Monday, May 19, 2014 at Cumberland Pointe Care Center, after her battle with congestive heart failure. She was born February 3, 1956 in Ft. Campbell, Kentucky, daughter of Norma Snyder Marmie and the late Ike Marmie.
Joni, known by all as 'Bronc,' a 1974 Union Local High School graduate, had worked as a nurse for VOCA. She enjoyed taking family vacations, paranormal investigations, sports, and politics.
In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her beloved dog, Belle.
In addition to her mother, Norma Marmie, Joni is survived by her husband of 24 years, Homer Bennett of Barnesville, Ohio; children, Emily and Kevin Bennett of Barnesville, Ohio, Barbie (John) Whiddon of Moundsville, West Virginia; grandchildren, Haley and Ella; brothers, Bruce (Brenda) Marmie of Hendrysburg, Ohio, Michael Marmie of Moundsville, West Virginia; mother and father-in-law, Esther and Homer Bennett; uncle, Harold Snyder; aunt, Joyce Latham; several nieces and nephews; and her cat, Yoshi.
Family and friends may visit, Thursday from 5 p.m. until the Memorial Service beginning at 7 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido & Patron Funeral Home/Patron Cremation Service, 702 East Main Street, Barnesville, Ohio. Brother Mark Eickenberry officiating. Interment will be private and at the convenience of Joni's family.
