Joseph A. "Joe" Archer, 65, of Martins Ferry, OH died Fri., Sept. 1, 2006 at Wheeling Hospital, Wheeling, WV. He was born Apr. 29, 1941 in Bellaire, OH a son of the late Ernest C. and Nora (Shaw) Archer. Joe was employed by the former Imperial Clevite of Lansing, OH for twenty-three years and the Martins Ferry City School District for sixteen years. He was a twenty-four year member of Grace Presbyterian Church of Martins Ferry where he served the Lord as an Ordained Elder, Deacon, and as a Church Trustee. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Betty Reynolds. Surviving are his wife of forty-two years Linda K. (Wilkins) Archer, his son Joey Archer and his wife Tina Brocht Archer of Wheeling, WV, two grandchildren Hannah and Brock Archer, two sisters Mary Jo (William) DeVault of Harrisville, OH and Pat Oliver of Buffalo, OH and several nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Sun. 12-4 PM and Mon. 2-4 & 7-9 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral services will be held Tues., Sept. 5, 2006 at 11:00AM at Grace Presbyterian Church, Martins Ferry, OH with Rev. William O. Webster officiating. Burial follows in Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry, OH. A Service of Bereavement will be held Monday at 7:30 PM at the funeral home.
