Obituary

Joseph J. "Red" Blatnik, 86, of Bridgeport, Ohio, passed Friday January 3, 2014 at home. He was born in Bridgeport on October 30, 1927, a son of the late John Joseph and Josephine Smith Blatnik. Red was a retired employee of Ohio Department of Transportation; a U.S. Army WWII Veteran, a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, Ohio; and Wolfhurst Volunteer Fire Department member and Capt. Of the Emergency Squad. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marline J. (Malone) Blatnik; sisters: Ceil Starosciak and JoAnn Pausic. He is survived by a daughter Maureen (Ed) Rouse and a son John Blatnik all of Bridgeport; a sister Helen Jezewski of Dearborn, MI, three grandchildren: Connie (Scott) Graham of West Liberty, WV., Mark and Teresa Rouse both of Bridgeport; three great-grandchildren: Allanha Sommers and Madison and Cory Graham. Friends are invited to attend a Memorial Mass on Thursday January 9, 2014 at 10:00am at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Wolfhurst, with Rev. John Mucha, as celebrant. Inurnment will be at a later date. The family is being assisted by Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Road, Brookside, Ohio. Memorial Contributions may be made to the Wolfhurst Vol. Fire Department.
