Joseph Nucci, 86, of Flushing, Ohio, died Thursday, June 23, 2016 at Wheeling Hospital. He was born in Flushing, Ohio on October 28, 1929, son of the late Louis Nucci and Louise DeFio Nucci.
Joe worked as a truck driver for Louis Nucci and Sons' until 1948, when he and his brothers founded the Nucci Coal Company, where Joe worked until 1979. After leaving Nucci Coal Company, he worked as a foreman for Krulock Coal Incorporated and then ran dozer for Ben-noc Coal and Quinn Development until he was 79 years old. Joe enjoyed mowing yards by walking, until later years when he rode his tractor. Mowing was relaxing and a great way to be outdoors. He enjoyed Poker, Cinch, fishing and a good cigar. His enjoyment of working every day came naturally for Joe and he was very successful at it.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Maxine Mae Nucci; son, Michael Joseph Nucci; brothers, Robert and Jim Nucci; sister, Nesta Cireddu; granddaughter, Melissa Sue Ault; and son-in-law, Tom Ault.
Joe is survived by his daughters, Stephanie Ault of Belmont, Ohio, Brenda (Karl) Spires of Flushing; son, Chuck (Erin) Nucci of Flushing, Ohio; grandchildren, Tom Ault, Jr., Tracy Negron, Vince and Brandon Nucci; great-grandchildren, Gavin, Drake, Chloe, Mason, and Emmalyn; and sister, Rose Marie (Chuck) Yen.
Family and friends are welcome to visit, Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., Kelly Kemp Braido Patron Funeral Homes & Crematory, 322 North Main Street, Bethesda, Ohio, where the service for Joe will be held, Tuesday at 12 noon. George Warner officiating. Interment will follow at Rock Hill Cemetery, Flushing, Ohio.
