Joseph W. "Joe" Peklicz, 76, of S. Zane Hwy., Martins Ferry, OH died Mon., May 22, 2006 at East Ohio Regional Hospital, Martins Ferry, OH. He was born April 16, 1930 in Tartakow, Poland a son of the late Matthew Peklicz and Tekla Peklicz Fisher. He was a machine operator with the former Picoma Industries of Martins Ferry and retired from Heslop Funeral Home with 16 years service. Joe was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry and Bridgeport Eagles #995. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Mary Peklicz and a brother John Fisher. Surviving are his wife Julia (Smithoffer) Peklicz, two sons Don (Nancy) Peklicz of Wheeling, WV and Joseph A. Peklicz of Martins Ferry, two sisters Frances (Siegfried) Neumann of Dundalk, Ontario and Maria (Albert) VanDromme of Kassel, Germany, a grandson Jamie Peklicz, and numerous nieces and nephews. Friends will be received Wed. 2-4 & 6-8 PM at the Heslop Funeral Home, Walnut at Fifth, Martins Ferry, OH. Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated Thursday, May 25, 2006 at 10:00 AM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Martins Ferry with Fr. Thomas A. Magary officiating. Burial follows in Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville.
